In Grand Theft Auto III there are 73 missions to complete: 65 Main Storyline Missions, 4 Offroad Checkpoint Challenges, and 4 RC Toyz missions.

STORY MISSIONS

Your first task in the 100% Completion of GTA III is to complete all 65 main storyline missions. These also include the 17 Payphone Missions (El Burro, Marty Chonks, King Courtney, D-Ice).

Some story missions are potentially missable and could prevent you from achieving 100%. Make sure to complete all missions in order as listed.

OFFROAD CHALLENGES

In GTA 3 there are four off-road side missions that require you to pass through a certain number of checkpoints within a time period. These missions are required for 100% completion.

TOYZ'N'THE HOOD

In GTA 3 there are four RC Toyz missions that can be started by getting into parked TOYZ vans at their respective locations. In these missions, you have to blow up a certain type of gang car as many times as possible in 2 minutes using an unlimited supply of RC Toyz. These missions are required for 100% completion, and you only have to blow up at least one car for each mission to count.

It is possible to complete 100% Completion of GTA 3 with the use of cheats, but using them will prevent you from unlocking achievements or trophies. Except for the final trophy, there is no rewards for 100% completion.

Achievements and Trophies

The following achievements and trophies can be achieved during multiple playthroughs of the game. These are discussed in a separate section as these are may or may not naturally happen during first playthrough of the game.

Escape Artist

Use 20 police bribes.

This trophy can come naturally as you collect police bribes around the city to escape a wanted level. You can see here where to find police bribes all around liberty city.

Street Sweeper

Waste 100 gang members.

This trophy can come naturally as you kill gang members all around Liberty City and during missions. There are gangs all around Liberty City: Diablos, The Mafia, Triads, Yakuza, Yardies, and Hoods.

Come Out to Play-y-y-y

Kill 25 gang members with melee weapons / fists.

This trophy can come naturally as you kill gang members all around Liberty City with your fists and melee weapons such as the baseball bat. To get it quicker, you can fight Diablos with your baseball bat as they are not very well armed.

Liberty City Minute

Survive with less than 10 hp for 1 minute.

This trophy can come naturally as you play the game, but if you want to get it early, get run over by cars until you reach 20 hp, then fall off the ledge near the Portland harbor until you get below 10 hp. Free roam a bit until you unlock the trophy.

Full Artillery

Use every weapon in the game at least once.

This trophy can come naturally as you buy and use different weapons in the game. There are 11 weapons: Baseball Bat, Pistol, Uzi, Grenade, Shotgun, Molotov Cocktail, AK47, M16, Sniper Rifle, Flamethrower, and Rocket Launcher.

Dirty Money

Amass a fortune of $1,000,000

This trophy will come naturally upon completion of the game for the first time or as you go towards 100% Completion.

Right-hand Man

Earn a criminal rating of 2,500.

This trophy can come naturally as you play the game and cause mayhem all around Liberty City. The more vehicles you destroy, the more your criminal ratings go up. So just keep causing mayhem and the trophy will eventually pop up.

Chasing Paper

Amass a fortune of $500,000

This achievement will come naturally upon completion of the game for the first time or as you go towards 100% Completion.

Am Walkin' Here

Die from being run over.

This achievement will come naturally as you get run over by vehicles.

Hunting Season

Destroy five helicopters.

For this trophy you can use a Sniper Rifle, M16 or Rocket Launcher. Find a building where cops and cop cars can not get to you, for example the roof of the Liberty City Sawmills in the south part of Portland. Get a wanted level of three stars or higher, and shoot down the helicopters as they spawn (it takes 1 minute for another helicopter to spawn).

Repeat Offender

Get busted 20 times.

It's as simple as that. Do not finish at the Police Station!

Cheaters Do Prosper!

Blow up 2,000 cars.

It's as simple as that. You can check how many vehicles you have destroyed in the Stats menu.

Like a Boss

Earn a criminal rating of 5,000 or higher.

This trophy can come naturally as you play the game and cause mayhem all around Liberty City. The more vehicles you destroy, the more your criminal ratings go up. So just keep causing mayhem and the achievement will eventually pop up.

Recycler

Crush 25 cars.

Keep feeding cars to the crusher in Portland and this achievement will eventually pop up. You can check how many cars you have crushed in the stats menu.
